Maryborough born, Lieutenant (later Major) Duncan Chapman of the 9th Bn AIF, was in the first wave of boats that landed at ANZAC Cove, at Gallipoli, just after 4am on the 25th of April 1915.
He is credited with being the first ashore by war historian CEW Bean.
This life sized statue was unveiled on ANZAC Day 2015.
